run the following Terminal command:
defaults write com.apple.finder QLEnableXRayFolders 1then restart Finder. To disable the effect, replace the 1 with a 0:
defaults write com.apple.finder QLEnableXRayFolders 0[Via]

Add a Visual Effect in Finder
To get this effect:
