10.6: Control QuickTime X

Welcome2Mac is The MacTipper Blog's weekly tip where all the people new to Apple's latest operating system can get Mac tips to help them better use Mac OS X.

In this week's Welcome2Mac, we'll take a look at controlling QuickTime X from the keyboard.

QuickTime X is the new QuickTime player in Mac OS X Snow Leopard. here's how you can navigate the video from the keyboard:


Right Arrow : Move forward one frame at a time.
Left Arrow : Move backward one frame at a time.

Cmd-Right Arrow : Fast-forward.
Cmd-Left Arrow : Fast-rewind.

Option-Right Arrow : Jump to end of movie.
Option-Left Arrow: Jump to beginning of movie.
--When using the Option-Arrow combination, the cursor will go from the end of the movie to the previous cursor position, to the beginning of the movie.


Space : Play and pause the video.
